BBCI Limits Indian Cricketers to Play BBL

India has been pushed by Suresh Raina to relax its policy on releasing players to international Twenty20 tournaments like the Big Bash League.

According to the BBL latest news, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur were two Indian female athletes who have played in Australia's Rebel WBBL in the past.

But the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has barred any active male player under its jurisdiction, regardless of whether they have a national contract or are close to national selection, from joining a T20 club outside the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Although it is unlikely, changing this provision might improve the caliber of international athletes competing in the KFC BBL, one of the numerous issues that local media outlets have recently mentioned. Former TV sports executive Dave Barham also brought up this issue in his report on the BBL.
