The Women's T20I Asia Cup 2022 took place in Sylhet, Bangladesh from 1 to 15 October 2022. In this tournament, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates compete against each other for the Asia Cup title. A schedule for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) tournament was announced on 20 September 2022. In the final of the 2018 tournament, Bangladesh defeated India by three wickets to claim the title for the first time. The tournament was played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. In this tournament, seven teams competed against each other in a round-robin format. The top four teams advanced to the semifinals, while the other two teams were eliminated.
As finalists at the 2022 ACC Women's T20 Championship, which was held in Malaysia in June 2022, the UAE and Malaysia qualified for the tournament.
Thailand recorded its first-ever victory against Pakistan in the round-robin stage by defeating them by 4 wickets.
