The Indian Premier League 2022, also called IPL 15 or TATA IPL 2022 due to sponsorship reasons, was the fifteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). It's a professional Twenty20 cricket league that was established in 2007 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This tournament took place between 26 March 2022 and 29 May 2022. The group stage of the tournament was played entirely in Maharashtra, with matches taking place in Mumbai and Pune.
It was this season that the league expanded to include two new franchises, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujrat Titans (GT).
The Chennai Super Kings were the defending champions, having won their fourth championship the previous year.
In the finals, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets to win their first title as a franchise. Despite their first attempt, Hardik Pandya and his team achieved this by displaying heroic performances and by maintaining a cool head.
