ICC Men's Twenty20 World Cup 2022, the English cricket team toured Australia in October 2022 for a series of 3 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and then toured again in November 2022 for 3 One Day Internationals (ODIs). The fixtures for the tour were confirmed by Cricket Australia (CA) in May 2022.
In the first T20I in Perth, England won by 8 runs with Alex Hales scoring 84 runs from 51 balls after David Warner scored 73 from 44 for the hosts. The match was highlighted by Matthew Wade blocking Mark Wood from fielding a ball after it had looped up off Wade's bat in the 17th over.
However, England captain Jos Buttler did not appeal against his dismissal. As England regained their form after a poor start in Canberra with David Dawid Malan's 82 runs from 49 balls in the second T20I, they sealed the series by 8 runs. Following England's innings being reduced to 12 overs and Australia losing three early wickets in their run chase, the final T20I was abandoned due to rain.
