The pace trio of Matt Fisher, Will O'Rourke and Blair Tickner have returned to the national setup after injury layoffs, as New Zealand named 15-member ODI and T20I squads for the series against Bangladesh later this month.
Test captain Tom Latham will lead the side, with regular white-ball captain Mitch Santner unavailable due to his commitments with Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
Several other New Zealand players who feature regularly across formats are also missing the series, as they are involved in the IPL and PSL.
The trio of fast bowlers are set for a return to international cricket after injuries sidelined them for varying periods during the home summer. O'Rourke (back injury) has been picked for the three ODIs, Fisher (shin injury) returns for the T20Is, while Tickner (ankle injury) has been named in both squads.
Head coach Rob Walter said it was encouraging to see the players back in contention.
"Will, Blair and Matt have been working very hard over the past few months to get themselves back on the park and back in contention for selection, and we're pleased to welcome them back into the group," said Walter.
"With the amount of cricket being played in the modern game, having depth in our bowling stocks is key. Having players of this quality return is great for the side," he added.
Off-spinning allrounder Dean Foxcroft has earned a recall to the white-ball setup, having last featured in a T20I in April 2024. Kristian Clarke and Jayden Lennox are also in line for further opportunities after their involvement in the historic away series win against India in January.
New Zealand are scheduled to arrive on April 13 for the tour, which comprises three ODIs and three T20Is. The first two ODIs will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on April 17 and 20, before the teams travel to Chattogram for the third match on April 23 at the Bir Shreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium.
The first two T20Is will be held in Chattogram on April 27 and 29, with the final game scheduled in Dhaka on May 2. Bangladesh began their preparations for the series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on March 27.
