In a thrilling display of batting, 23-year-old Aniket Verma achieved his maiden IPL half-century while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Delhi Capitals on March 30, 2025, in Visakhapatnam. Coming in at a precarious position with SRH reeling at 25 for 3, Verma showcased his explosive style by initially taking his time to settle in. He was given a second chance when Abhishek Porel dropped a catch off his second ball in the sixth over.

After this lifeline, Verma accelerated his innings and quickly shifted gears. He reached his half-century in just 34 balls, scoring a remarkable 74 runs off 41 deliveries, which included four boundaries and six towering sixes. His innings was pivotal for SRH as they struggled with wickets falling at the other end.

Verma’s innings ended when he was caught by Jake Fraser off Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling, marking him as the eighth wicket to fall. His performance not only highlighted his potential as a rising star in the IPL but also provided much-needed stability to the SRH batting lineup during a challenging match.
