All cricket fans will always have a soft spot in their hearts for the West Indies cricket squad. Few teams have been able to control the game as well as they did in the 1970s and 1980s. It was a time when several top-tier West Indies cricket players rose to prominence and left their marks in history.
The West Indies cricket team won the inaugural World Cup in 1975, and they also made history by winning back-to-back World Cups in 1979. Even though West Indies cricket has been less dominant over time, they are still one of only a select few teams to have won the World Cup, World T20, and the Champions Trophy. The West Indies cricket board, which oversees them, has struggled in recent years as a result of players opting to play for domestic T20 leagues rather than their country.
However, West Indies cricket team players have been able to leave an enduring impression on the world stage throughout their historic history. Even if those players aren't on the current West Indies national cricket team roster, Chris Gayle is still on it. Jason Holder currently serves as the leader of the West Indies cricket team in Tests and ODIs, while Carlos Brathwaite is in charge of the T20 squad.
Some of the greatest cricket players in history are on the list of West Indies player list. From people like Brian Lara, Courtney Walsh, and Curtly Ambrose to others like Sir Garry Sobers, Malcolm Marshall, and Viv Richards.
The nation's record for Test and ODI runs is held by Brian Lara. With 10,348 runs, Lara is the only WI player to have amassed over 10,000 runs in the format, and his 11,953 runs in Tests rank him eighth among all batsmen in the annals of the sport.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul currently holds the national record for most Test appearances, while Brian Lara has the title for most ODI appearances. The ODI record for most victories as captain belongs to Viv Richards, while the Test record belongs to Clive Lloyd.
As the most prolific wicket-taker for the West Indies in both Tests and ODIs, Courtney Walsh controls the bowling records. Malcolm Marshall and Curtly Ambrose share the national record for most five-wicket hauls in one-day internationals, but Ambrose retains the record for most such hauls in Test cricket.
The existing Test series against Sri Lanka, which is now touring South Africa, will be followed by a series against Bangladesh at home in the 2018 cricket season for the West Indies. On July 4, the first of two tests against Bangladesh will start. Then they will play three ODIs and three T20Is against one another. The West Indies squad won't play again for a few more months because the vast bulk of their players will be competing in the CPL.
After that, the national squad of West Indies will fly to India to take part in a comprehensive tour that includes Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. The final West Indies cricket match of 2018 will be an away series against Bangladesh.

The West Indies cricket team players wear all-white during test cricket matches. In ODI and T20 cricket, this endearing nation dons a maroon t-shirt and coordinating slacks.
However, Sandals, the shirt's sponsor, is prominently displayed there and has been for the past three years. The WICB insignia is included on the cap, which brings us to the wearable headgear. Two yellow stripes are also seen on the front.
