In June and July 2022, the Indian women's cricket team traveled to Sri Lanka to compete against the Sri Lankan women's cricket team. There were three Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) games and three Women's One Day International (WODI) games. The WODI games were a part of the ICC Women's Championship from 2022 to 2025. The games served as a training session for the women's cricket tournament in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
Following Mithali Raj's announcement that she would be leaving international cricket, Harmanpreet Kaur was selected as India's new captain for the tour. With a victory of 34 runs in the first WT20I, India won the opening match of the tour. India defeated Sri Lanka in the second World Twenty20 International by a margin of five wickets, winning the match and the series with one game remaining. India won the series 2-1, but Sri Lanka won the third and final WT20I by seven wickets. It was Sri Lanka's first victory at home over India in a WT20I game.
India defeated Sri Lanka in the first WODI by four wickets, and the second by ten wickets. The run chase by India in the game was the highest successful target in WODI cricket without losing a wicket. India defeated Pakistan 3-0 in the third and final World One Day International.
