India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav expressed his gratitude to Jitesh Sharma, Vyshak Vijay Kumar, and YashDayal for their unwavering support during the team’s South Africa tour. Despite India sticking to their winning combination throughout most of the series, these players did not get a chance to feature in the playing XI, as India clinched a 3-1 series victory with little need for changes.
Jitesh, a wicketkeeper-batter, along with pacers Vyshak and Yash, spent the series on the sidelines, patiently waiting for an opportunity that never arrived. After India’s triumph, Suryakumar made sure to acknowledge their contributions, despite not being on the field. In a video posted by the BCCI, he said, “Thank you, Jitesh, Vyshak, and Yash, for all the support. And obviously, thanks to the support staff for their constant assistance.”
India’s series win was the result of collective teamwork, highlighted by some extraordinary individual performances. Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma were the stars, each scoring two centuries across the four matches.
Despite India’s dominance, the second T20I served as a reminder of the unpredictability of cricket, with dropped catches and poor shot selection leading to a rare defeat. Still, India bounced back to seal the series, demonstrating both resilience and skill.
