
Sri Lanka Cricket have appointed Hashan Tillakaratne as the batting coach of the Senior Men's Program.The former Sri Lanka player will work with the national team players at the SLC's National High Performance Center.
The 59-year-old has considerable coaching experience having previously served as the batting coach of national men's team and as the head coach of the women's team. Tillakaratne has also served as the head coach of the Bangladesh Women's national team. His appointment takes effect immediately and continues until December 31, 2027.
Tillakaratne had a distinguished playing career for Sri Lanka, scoring over 8200 runs in the international arena across 83 Tests and 200 ODIs. He was also a part of the 1996 World Cup winning team.
