India quick Kranti Gaud has been fined 10 per cent of her match fees after breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup final in Dubai on Sunday (September 13).

Gaud was found to have breached Article 2.5, with a Level 1 offence related to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage, or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

She has also been handed one demerit point, her first offence in a 24-month period.

The incident occurred in the opening over of Sri Lanka’s chase. Facing the first ball, Imesha Dulani collected a boundary with a lap shot off Gaud. Three balls later, she was dismissed trying the same shot, with a pumped-up Gaud giving Dulani a send-off by gesturing towards the pavilion.

She accepted the charges after the sanction was proposed by match referee Supriya Rani Das, with no formal hearing needed.

Pakistan docked for slow over-rate

Pakistan were fined five per cent of their match fees for maintaining a slow over-rate in the semi-final against Sri Lanka.

Chasing 131 in the semi-final, Sri Lanka reached the target in 18.4 overs. Pakistan were ruled to be one over short of the target, when time allowances were taken into consideration. Captain Fatima Sana accepted the sanction, after fourth umpire Rabab Ahsan leveled the charge.
