India secured a win against Pakistan despite a slow chase of a modest target of 106 runs. Although Pakistan's Fatima Sana briefly threatened India's progress with two quick wickets in the 16th over, the Indian team eventually clinched victory with 18.5 overs. Harmanpreet Kaur played a steady knock of 29 runs off 24 balls but had to retire hurt just before the finish, leaving Sajeevan Sajana to score the winning runs.

Throughout the chase, India showed little urgency, with opener Shafali Verma scoring 32 off 35 balls and Jemimah Rodrigues adding 23 from 28. Indian bowlers, led by Arundhati Reddy’s 3-19, had previously restricted Pakistan by taking regular wickets, preventing any significant partnerships. Nida Dar top-scored for Pakistan with 28 from 34 balls, but their inability to build partnerships hurt their chances.

India’s cautious approach saw them crawling to 25-1 in the powerplay without a boundary, raising concerns over their form despite this win. Although they will be favored in their next match against Sri Lanka, they face pressure to reach the semi-finals, with defending champions Australia still looming. Pakistan, too, remains in contention but will face a tough challenge against Australia next.
