Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed on Tuesday (June 9) that Fahim Sinha will replace Aminul Islam as the new chairman of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
The decision was taken during the first meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors under BCB chairman Tamim Iqbal. While Fahim will act as the chairman of BPL governing council, veteran sports organizer Masuduzzaman will serve as member secretary of the tournament.
BPL has been rocked by criticisms over non-payment issues. There were also allegations of fixing that the newly formed governing council needs to fix.
BCB president Tamim will be heading the working and facilities committee while he is also expected to lead the BCB cricket operation, much like the way he did during his stint as ad-hoc committee.
Meanwhile, BCB announced that they have accepted the resignation of Mir Shakrul Alam Simanto from the BCB Board of Directors, who withdrew citing family commitment.
