Chennai Super Kings have said its board would look into reports linking the franchise to anti-corruption activity inside the team. Claiming that it has zero tolerance for corruption in the game, the franchise said it would initiate appropriate measures to come to the bottom of the case. The CSK board is scheduled to meet over the next couple of days.

A recent expose by the Tehelka website alleged that a CSK player was providing classified information to a Delhi-based former first-class player, who sold the details to London-based bookmakers in exchange for Rs 60 lakh for a match in the 2025 season. The player, who has featured in six first-class matches, told an undercover reporter that he had earned Rs 3 crore by selling that information.

“We have our Annual General Meeting (AGM) coming up. Our board will meet ahead of the AGM. We will discuss the matter,” the CSK official told Cricbuzz. He did not want to be identified because of the sensitive nature of the issue. He also said the information available so far is unverified. The CSK AGM is on September 25.

The player has claimed he could organise information in 2026 IPL too if his source could be bought in the auction. He quoted Rs 1 crore for help fix matches in the IPL and provided a 90 per cent guarantee. The source, apparently, was not picked in the auction.

This player has also been quoted in the expose saying that his source will provide classified information of a side participating in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) too. The expose reported that the information matched with the August 3 game of the recent DPL season.

The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has termed the reports as unverified and unsubstantiated but said it has sought the advice from competent authority.

The Tehelka expose did not name the CSK blacksheep. The franchise was previously banned for two years after a member of its promoter group was found to be involved in illegal betting.
