The young off spinner of Mumbai Himanshu Singh has been invited to join the Team India camp in Chennai. The camp, which serves as preparation for the upcoming first Test against Bangladesh, will run from September 13 to 18. All selected players are required to report by September 12, with those currently engaged in the Duleep Trophy joining post their matches.
As per report, the 21-year-old off-spinner has caught the attention of the national selectors following his remarkable performance in the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament.
On Saturday, Himanshu produced a stunning display, taking 7 wickets for 74 runs in Mumbai’s match against Andhra at Alur-1 Ground. Despite his lack of experience at the senior level for Mumbai, his consistent performances in age-group cricket for Mumbai U-16 and U-23 teams have not gone unnoticed.
Himanshu has been a part of the BCCI’s ‘emerging players’ camps in Anantapur and Bengaluru in recent years, where he honed his skills under expert guidance. This camp is a significant step in his journey, as he moves closer to representing India on the international stage.
