Fakhar Zaman is reportedly considering retirement after being left out of Pakistan's central contracts, which has significantly affected his morale. The cricketer, who has been a key player for the national team, was also excluded from the white-ball squads for the upcoming series against Australia and Zimbabwe. His omission follows a controversial tweet criticizing the decision to drop Babar Azam from the Test squad after the first Test against England.

Zaman's exclusion has raised eyebrows, especially given his contributions to the team in recent years. Former players and fans have expressed concern over the selection process and its impact on player morale.

On Sunday, PCB chief MohsinNzqvi confirmed that while his pro-Babar Azam “tweet was an issue”, Zaman was excluded from the squad because of his issues with fitness. Naqvi claimed that Fakhar Zaman faced the axe mainly due to fitness and due to his show cause notice remaining unresolved.

“Look, Fakhar Zaman tweet matters, but fitness is major issue. There are two major issues in his fitness. There is also a pending show cause notice against him which is yet to be decided on. That is why he has been excluded,” Mohsin Naqvi clarified.
