Robin Uthappa has been a part of many franchises like the Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Pune Warriors, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, etc. However, the team where he spent a long period of time was the Kolkata Knight Riders, as he was part of the team from 2014 until 2019. He played an important role for the team, as he helped KKR win the 2014 edition when Gautam Gambhir was the captain of the team.
Now Uthappa has said that he used to feel alienated at KKR after Gautam Gambhir left. Uthappa tweeted, "So much has been said since last night, and I thank you for sharing. However, I have always maintained that my first 4 years in KKR when Gauti led were completely different from my last 2 years, and that had a huge impact on my performances. I can assure you it had nothing to do with captaincy!"
He further said that, "After Gauti was let go, everything changed, and I felt alienated. However, my love for the fans of KKR was the same and will remain the same forever. I'm forever grateful for their support, and I want to clarify that! This isn't about the fans of KKR. I'll forever love and respect them.
