The New Zealand cricket team toured India to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) during January and February of 2023. A confirmation of the fixtures was made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in December 2022.
Indian players gave an outstanding performance during the 3-match ODI series. With these 3 ODI games, Shubhman Gill has established himself as one of India's new opening batsmen. His 360 runs in three matches of this ODI series were the highest of his career until now. India moved to the top of the ICC's ODI rankings with a 3–0 win in the ODI series.
Team India also carried its ruthlessness into the T20Is. Despite losing the first game, India won the T20I series 2–1; winning by 168 runs in the final game. During the T20I series, players like Hardik Pandya, Shubhman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh performed well.
