India’s New Look Squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup: Analyzing the Selections and Predicting Their Chances | CBTF Speed News

The ICC World Cup 2023 is about to start, and India will host the world cup in October. If we see the cricket news, all the teams have geared up their preparation ahead of the world cup. India and Australia are playing a 3 -match ODI series, and it will help the team to understand the situation. BCCI has shortlisted 20 players for the Indian squad, and the 15-player squad will be selected from it. They are given the chance in the different bilateral series, and their performance will be the basis of selection. The BCCI will also consider its domestic performance. In this article, we will see the probable squad for India.

Probable India Squad:

Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav

Openers

Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, and Shikhar Dhawan are the four choices for the openers. Rohit Sharma is captain of India’s international cricket team and will also lead India in the world cup. There is no doubt that he will be the first opener. The Indian captain was in dream form in the previous ICC World Cup and scored five centuries.

Shikhar Dhawan might be selected into the team as a second opener as he is Mr. ICC. He has performed in every ICC tournament, and his performance in the champion trophy in 2013 will be remembered. He was the highest run-scorer, and India won the champion trophy. Shikhar Dhawan is out of the international cricket team, but he will be considered.

Shubman Gill is next on the list. The young sensation has converted his talent into performance and scored a double-hundred in recent matches. If we see the cricket news for India, he is a regular opener of India currently and is the partner of Rohit Sharma. There is a high chance that Gill be the top choice for the second opener.

Ishan Kishan is the next player who claims his name for the opening spot. He scored a double-hundred recently and also is with the Indian team. Currently, he is struggling with consistency, and it might be the reason that he will be left behind.

Middle-order

Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Sanju Samson are the choices for the middle order.

Virat Kohli is the easy choice, and there is doubt about the third place. He is the biggest star of cricket currently and has the most international runs for India after Sachin Tendulkar. He captained India in ICC World Cup 2019 and can help his team with previous experience.

Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav will be the choices for the 4th place. SKY is in outstanding form in T20 but struggling to replicate in ODI. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer has been great for India in 4th place. This place has been a big headache for India, and Iyer has taken care recently. If Iyer proves his fitness, he will be the first choice.

Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul will claim their name for the 5th place as wicket-keeper batsmen. Rishabh Pant is recovering from injury, and if proves his fitness ahead of the world cup, he will be the first choice-wicket keeper. KL Rahul provides flexibility, can play at any position, and can also do wicket-keeping. There is no doubt that they will be part of the world cup squad. If any of them are unavailable, the Indian selection committee might also consider Sanju Samson.

All-rounders

Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar are the four choices for the all-rounders.

Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja will be part of the ICC World cup squad, and there is no doubt about it. Hardik will bat in sixth place, and Jadeja will bat in seventh place. Selectors might pick between Axar Patel and Washington Sundar based on their performance.

Fast bowlers

Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the four choices for the fast bowler. They have been great for the Indian side. Mohammed Shami and Mohammad Siraj are part of the Indian side and most probably will make their place in the world cup side. Jasprit Bumrah is injured and has to prove his fitness ahead of the world cup. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is not in great touch, but the selection committee will also consider him due to his experience.
