New IPL teams in 2022: Gujarat Titans & Lucknow Super Giants
2 brand new franchises are making debuts.
Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans was founded in 2021, with a base at Ahmedabad. Home stadium of Gujarat Titans is Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad.
Hardik Pandya is the captain and Ashish Nehra is the coach of this team. Team is owned by London based CVC capital partners.
Apart from Hardik Pandya, Gujarat Titans had retained 2 more players, Rashid Khan and Shubhman Gill, ahead of the mega auction 2022.
Team has appointed Garry Kirsten as their batting coach and ex English player, Vikram Solanki as their team director.

Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants is another brand new team with a home stadium at Lucknow.
K L Rahul is the captain of this team and former Zimbabwe player Andy Flower is the chief coach. Apart from K L Rahul, the team has purchased Marcus Stoinis and spinner Ravi Bisnoi.
The team is owned by RPSG group, which earlier owned Rising Pune Super Giant.

About IPL match schedule 2022
This year, the IPL is scheduled between 26th March and 29th May. Opening match will be played at Wankhede Stadium between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on 26th March. As there are 10 teams in IPL 2022, more teams means a bigger IPL will be played, this time a total of 74 matches will be played. It means you can play more fantasy cricket this time!
