Ireland tour of Zimbabwe, 2023: Zimbabwe Took the Lead Against Ireland by 5 Wickets

At Harare Sports Club, Harare, the teams, Zimbabwe and Ireland came against each other for the opening match of the T20I series. With both the captains on the pitch, Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Balbirnie and Ross Adair opened the batting attack on the opening bowling from Chatara. In the 2nd over, Adair bought the first four for the side and lost his wicket to Ngarava. After 3 overs, Ireland got a score of 12-2.

Scoring 15 in 13 balls, Doheny got out to Evans. After 11 overs, Ireland crossed the half-century with a score of 59-5. Adding 20 off 20, Camphor got a dismissal from Masakadza. After 14 overs, IRE boys jumped to a score of 71-7. With Delany on the pitch, the side crossed the century with a score of 105-8.

In 19.2 overs, Ireland posted 114 runs with a loss of 10 wickets.

To chase down the target of 115, Ervine and Marumani came to the middle on the throw from Tector. In the first over, Ervine got the first four for the side and lost his wicket. After 3 overs, Zimbabwe got a score of 17-2. Scoring 16 in 22 balls, Madhevere lost his wicket to Tector and the left-handed batter, Sean Williams took the batting charge.

After 17 overs, Zimbabwe crossed the century with a score of 104-5. In the 18th over from Delany, Madande got two fours and the score jumped to 118-5 and won the match against Ireland by 5 wickets.
