Desert Vipers and Gulf Giants faced each other at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. The Gulf Giants won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Alex Hales and Rohan Mustafa came to bat, and Richard Gleeson opened the bowling attack. In the 2nd over, Mustafa hit the first boundary of the match, and he hit the next boundary on the 4th ball. Alex Hales hit back-to-back four in the third over. After 3 overs, DV was 23-0.

David Wiese came into the attack in the fourth over, and Alex Hales hit four and six back-to-back. In the 5th over, Alex Hales smashed 4, 4, 6, and 4 on Chris Jordan and helped his team to score 50 runs. After 6 overs, DV was 62-0.

Liam Dawson was brought back into the attack, and Rohan Mustafa hit six and four on the first two balls but got out on the fourth ball after scoring 23(16). In the 8th over, Alex Hales took a single on the first ball and scored his half-century in 26 balls. After 10 overs, DV was 104-1.

Chasing 196 runs, Tom Banton and James Vince came to bat, and Sheldon Cottrell opened the bowling attack. James Vince hit the four and opened the boundary account on the third ball, and got out on the 4th ball. Chris Lynn hit back-to-back two fours in the second over. After 3 overs, GLG was 22-1.

In the fourth over, Chris Lynn hit the six on the first ball, and Tom Banton got out on the third ball. Hasaranga took the wicket of Rehan Ahmed in the fifth over. After 6 overs, GLG was 43-3.
