Afghanistan and Pakistan faced each other in the 1st T20I of the series at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first.

Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris came to bat, and Fazalhaq Farooqi opened the bowling attack. Saim Ayub hit the four on the last ball, and it was the first boundary of the match. In the 3rd over, Mohammad Haris hit a four on the fifth ball and got out after scoring 6(11) on the last ball. In the 4th over, Shafique got out for a duck. In the 6th over, Tayyab Tahir smashed three fours, and Saim Ayub got out on the last ball after scoring 17(15). After 6 overs, PAK was at 39-3.

In the 7th over, Tayyab Tahir got out after scoring 16(9) on the first ball. In the 8th over, Azam Khan got out for a duck. In the 9th over, Pakistan reached 50 runs. In the 13th over, Shadab Khan got out after scoring 12(18) on the first ball. In the 14th over, Faheem Ashraf got out after scoring 2(8) on the fifth ball. In the 16th over, Naseem Shah got out after scoring 2(7), and Zaman Khan ended the over with a six. After 16 overs, PAK was at 77-8. In the 18th over, Imad Wasim got out after scoring 18(32) on the fifth ball.

In 20 overs, Pakistan scored 92 runs with a loss of 9 wickets.

Chasing 93 runs, Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz came to bat, and Naseem Shah opened the bowling attack. Gurbaz opened the account with a six. In the 5th over, Ibrahim Zadran got out after scoring 9(11) on the first ball, and Gulbadin got out for a duck on the third ball. In the 6th over, Gurbaz got out after scoring 16(17) on the third ball. After 6 overs, AFG was at 29-3. In the 10th over, Karim Janat got out after scoring 7(16) on the 4th, and Afghanistan reached 50 runs.

In the 17th over, Mohammad Nabi hit back-to-back two fours, and he hit the winning boundary. Afghanistan scored 98-4 and won the match by 6 wickets.
