The squads Central Districts and Wellington came on the grounds of Fitzherbert Park, Palmerston North. The former team won the toss and opted to bowl first. 

Finn Allen and Nick Kelly came to unveil the batting attack on the opening bowling of D Bracewell. In the first over only, Allen crunched a six and one more in the immediate over. After 3 overs, WEL got a score of 25. 

In the 4th over, Kelly smacked four boundaries and a six and two boundaries and a six in the consecutive over. The boys crossed the half-century, standing a score of 68 after 5 overs. 

Scoring 33 runs in 20 balls, Allen lost his wicket to Randell. Kelly reached his 50-run stand and the side crossed the century with a score  of 1-3-1 after 8 overs. Fueling a huge score of 58 in 25 balls, Kelly got a dismissal from Tom Bruce. 

After 14 overs, WEL jumped to a score of 143-4. In 20 overs, WEL posted 213 runs with a loss of 6 wickets. 

To chase down the target of 144, Greg Hay and Ben Smith came to the middle on the throw from van Beek. In the 2nd over, Greg Hag lost his wicket and in the 3rd over from Snedden, Cleaver crunched three boundaries and the side got a score of 21-1. 

In the 6th over, Smith slammed three boundaries and after 7 overs, CD crossed the half-century with a score of 56-1. Scoring 29 in 21 balls, Smith lost his wicket to Younghusband. Fueling 44 runs in 32 balls for the side, Cleaver lost his wicket to Ravindra.

After 13 overs, the side crossed the century with a score of 101-4. In 20 overs, CD registered 212 runs with a loss of 7 wickets and lost to WEL by 2 runs.
