On January 5, 2024, the International Cricket Council (ICC) released the itinerary for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which would take place in the USA and the West Indies. USA and Canada, archrivals and neighbours, will play their opening game of the season on June 1 at Fort Lauderhill Stadium in Florida.

India is in Group A with co-hosts the United States, Canada, Namibia, Pakistan, and Ireland, and Group B consists of England, Australia, Namibia, and Oman. Afghanistan, New Zealand, the West Indies, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea are the co-hosts of Group C. The last group, Group D, which includes South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, and Nepal, is also known as the group of death.
As per the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024, from each group, two teams will advance to the Super 8 stage, where they will be split into two additional groups of four players each. From there, the top two teams from each group advanced to the semifinals.
