NARENDRA MODI STADIUM(AHMEDABAD)Pitch Report

The Motera offers a slow wicket. Initially, it was a bowler-friendly track but over the course of time, the pitch lost its spice as it started to slow down. Very few Test games have reached a conclusion over here. The ground has six red soil pitches and five black soil pitches. The one used for the third Test was a red soil pitch and it came as no surprise that it helped the spinners early on the first day itself after it was left to dry. Former India and Gujarat player Parthiv Patel too has a role to play in this. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has just avoided being hit with demerit points after the pitch for the pink-ball Test, which was also the first international match in the refurbished stadium, was rated as "average" despite the match lasting only two days.
