MELBOURNE CRICKET STADIUM (MELBOURNE)Pitch Report

The 22-yards at the MCG is considered to be one of the most competitive surfaces in the world. It offers a fine balance between bat and ball. While the bowlers get some assistance early on with mostly genuine bounce, as it gets old, the batsmen can play their strokes freely. However, generally, the spinners do not get much of a purchase at the MCG..

Test Match Pitch Report and Toss Factor:

The surface came for some criticism last year, with some suggesting that the pitch was to flat and not assistance was given to the bowlers. The pitch in Melbourne has equally favored the batsmen and the bowlers. In the previous two Tests, teams batting first have posted 400+ totals in the first innings. The fast bowlers receive some assistance from the wicket on the second and the third days. In the final phase, the spinners also come into the play. In this ground 10 test matches played in last 10 years in which 4 matches won by batting first team and 4 matches won by batting second team and 2 match was draw.

BIG BASH LEAGUE Match Pitch Report and Toss Factor:

The surface at the melbourne Stadium is a good batting surface, as it has

true bounce and the batters can play their shots freely. The pitch is also conducive to fast bowling and pacers need to extract every last bit of assistance from the surface to keep the scoring-rate under control. The team who wins the toss will look to chase on this surface. The team batting first will look to get as close as possible to the 180-run mark to make it a contest.
