Which Team is Best for International Cricket?

Cricket, a popular game in many Asian and European countries, has long stolen the show from other sports. It had its beginnings in England during the 16th century, and within two centuries, it had become the national sport of England.

Since then, it has been performed everywhere. The international cricket council has actively organized national and international level matches, and it schedules international matches for the world cup, test series, ODIs, and now twenty-twenty matches.

So, here we came up with not only the India international cricket team but others who are likely to win this T20 World Cup 2022.

10 Best Team & Jaw-Dropping Performances in T20 World Cup

As T20 World Cup 2022 is right here, let’s look at the best performance by every tournament team from the beginning of the edition.

England – 2010

In the third World T20 tournament in 2010, England won their first ICC World Cup history. Fifteen countries took part in the event, which the West Indies hosted. Australia and England competed in the final in Bridgeton, where England quickly overcame Australia’s score of 147 to win the match and take home the title.

While Craig Kieswetter received player of the match honors in the finals, Kevin Pietersen was awarded the tournament’s top performer. England is a solid favorite to repeat history and win the T20 World Cup for a second time, and they have a frightening team this time.

Australia – 2010

Australia has always been a significant player in international cricket, winning up to five ODI World Cup medals. The fact that the men in yellow have never won the World T20 Trophy is stunning.

The 2010 T20 World Cup saw Australia perform at its best. They came in second place to England after failing to hold onto their Bridgeton score of 147. It’s interesting to note that in the previous two seasons, they were eliminated from the competition after Round 2. (2014 & 2016).

The Australians, who have a good team once more, would undoubtedly want to end their curse and win the T20 World Cup this year.

West Indies – 2012, 2016

The T20 World Cup’s reigning champion is West Indies. At Eden Gardens, they defeated England in the World Twenty20 final in a memorable last-over victory in 2016, and Carlos Braithwaite’s outstanding hitting contributed to that. That championship game will undoubtedly rank among the most memorable events in cricket history.

West Indies is the most successful team at the T20 World Cup, with two victories. In 2012, they won their first trophy, and in 2016, they won their second.

They will surely be among the favorites to win the Cup this year for a record-breaking third time with a dangerous team.

New Zealand – Semi-Finals – 2007 & 2016

In the T20 World Cup, New Zealand doesn’t have an excellent track record. They have appeared in every edition, and their most outstanding performances have been in the semi-finals in 2007 and 2016. Every past World T20 tournament saw the Kiwis Eliminated after Round 2.

The IPL performances of players like Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson, and many others would only help the team’s morale. They are unquestionably strong candidates for the championship heading into the crucial competition.

India – 2007

Back in 2007, India international cricket team won the T20 World Cup’s inaugural competition. Since then, the world cup’s shorter format hasn’t been kind to the men in blue.

After Round 2 in the 2009, 2010, and 2012 competitions, Team India was eliminated. They succeeded in making it to the 2014 T20 World Cup finals. However, Sri Lanka won the tournament after utterly outplaying them.

Notably, it would be Virat Kohli’s final T20 international as captain of India. He will be more than eager to obtain the trophy to present it to himself as a suitable parting present.

Sri Lanka – 2014

The cricketing nation of Sri Lanka is not currently in its prime, but the 2010s saw them as a dominant force. Their best performance came at the 2014 World T20 when they won the championship by defeating India international cricket team in the finals. With a win percentage of 62.38%, Sri Lanka stands out as the country with the highest win percentage overall.

The Lankans will undoubtedly try to compete in the T20 World Cup this year, given the talent in their roster. Although they may not have the strongest team on paper, they undoubtedly have outstanding skills.

Pakistan – 2009

In the first four seasons of the T20 World Cup, Pakistan was, without question, the most reliable team. Each of the first four editions saw them reach the semi-finals, and they even managed to win the title once.

However, they weren’t successful in the first two World T20 tournaments. Both in 2014 and 2016, Pakistan was eliminated from the competition at the end of Round 2.

The men in green would undoubtedly aim for a return and want to go the distance in the 2021 World T20. Pakistan has a talented team and is undoubtedly capable of winning the trophy this year.

Bangladesh – Super – 8 – 2007, 2014, .2016

Bangladesh has not yet advanced to the World T20 semi-finals in six seasons. In 2007, 2014, and 2016, they reached the super-8 stages three times. However, they were unable to advance.

However, Bangladesh is one of the cricketing world’s most improved sides. With a young, motivated team, they will aim for the championship this season rather than just a top-4 finish.

South Africa – Semi-Finals – 2009, 2014

South Africa hasn’t had much success as a team at World Cups. Despite having a superb unit, the Proteas have consistently struggled in both the ODI and T20 World Cups.

South Africa excelled in the T20 World Cups in 2009 and 2014, reaching the semi-finals. The Proteas, on the other hand, have never made it to the final and will aim for first place this time.

Afghanistan – Round -2 – 2016

Afghanistan is not the same group that it was a few years ago. The 2016 World T20 was their best T20 World Cup performance, and they advanced to Round 2.

Afghanistan, a talent and skill powerhouse, has developed significantly as a team during the past five years. They’ll surely want to play their best and surprise everyone at the tournament this year.
