-
India
Team India had a season to forget from the previous edition and go ahead in the tournament. After suffering a woeful defeat against the rivals Pakistan in the opening encounter, followed by the defeat against New Zealand, India couldn’t step into the knockout round.
India’s squad has been comfortable under the captain, Rohit Sharma and for the T20 World Cup 2022, you can expect him to be in form for playing matches fearlessly. India can be on the winning side if they keep it cool and play their flawless game.
- Pakistan
In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, Pakistan played their game led by Babar Azam and demonstrated their potential to the world that what they are capable of.
Pakistan squad played with huge discipline with Azam, Rizwan, Hafiz, and Malik. They have one of the best pacing attacks in the league where Afridi and Ali paved their way for the win.
- Australia
Australia is the defending champion of ICC World Cup 2021 and they’ll be in the high chase for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Under the captaincy of Aaron Finch, Australia showed to the world why they can be tough for the rest of the teams. They have the strongest batting lineups in the league with Warner, Maxwell, Finch and Wade in the squad.
With Australia having the strong arsenal, specially their speed bowlers as they are strong enough to ruin the opponent’s bowling attack to lead the scoreboard. Moreover, for Australia, the advantage is that the match will be on the home ground.
Why Do India Have the Chances of Win?
India can have the chances of win in the upcoming matches in the T20 World Cup 2022 due to the following reasons:
- Virat Back in Form
In the recent years, Virat was criticized for his poor performances but in real, Virat is back in groove in the Asia Cup which is a major advantage for team India. Kohli scored 276 runs, including his crucial 71st international century against Afghanistan and two half-centuries. Despite previous performances, Virat won’t be concerned about his position in the squad going for the T20 World Cup 2022. He has no pressure of scoring big enough for the team to get the victory. Virat has incredible capability to drive the innings to a successful turn which is another major advantage for the team. He has shown this in the Asia Cup match against Pakistan and the upcoming tournament is anticipated to be the same.
As per the cricket news, Kohli amassed the most runs during the 2014 edition of the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. In that match, Kohli played at an average of 106.33 at a strike rate of 129.14 in 6 matches, giving a stellar performance.
He scored four half-centuries in the major competition that included 50+ totals against Sri Lanka & South Africa in the semi-final and championship matches respectively but India got defeated to Sri Lanka.
- Bumrah and Patel in the Lineup
Both Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah have been considered a good move for India. In the Asia Cup, the Indian squad played without the pair, especially in the last few overs of the match. The former captain of Australia, Ricky Ponting observed that a player of Bumrah’s caliber would be challenging for Australian on fields. After the return of true wicket-takers, India’s side that lacked options for taking wickets in the Asia Cup event, now has the greatest bowling lineups in the squad. Beginning with Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah, the opponents will encounter challenges from spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Hardik Pandya in the middle overs in the upcoming matches.
Harshal Patel made his debut in IPL in 2012 and during the seven seasons, he has appeared in 41 games. Harshal hasn’t quite made a great impression to be a regular participant in an IPL match but he has made enough contribution in the squad for the following season. Harshal has a respectable strike rate for taking wickets but his economy has been an issue for the team. While representing Delhi last year, he allowed runs at a 9.54 economy rate and in the IPL, he played at an average of 8.66.
