Team India Announces Changes In Squad Ahead of South Africa Series

Prior to the three-match T20I series against South Africa, Team India made three significant roster adjustments according to cricket news.

Team India will now face South Africa in a three-match T20I series beginning on September 28 in Thiruvananthapuram after winning the series against Australia.

However, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian management has pushed some changes into the team ahead of the eagerly awaited series due to a few injury worries.

In preparation for the South Africa series, team India made the following three adjustments to the lineup:

  1. The three-match T20I series against South Africa will be played without Mohammed Shami, the senior pacer for India because he hasn’t fully recovered from the Covid.

Replacement: Mohammed Shami will be replaced for the South Africa series by Umesh Yadav, according to the announcement.

2. Deepak Hooda, an all-rounder for Baroda, was injured in his back and was forced to miss the entire T20I series against South Africa.

Replacement: Deepak Hooda’s replacement, Shreyas Iyer, has been picked for the Indian team for the three-match T20I series against South Africa.

3. In order to control his workload before the T20 World Cup 2022, India’s top all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been given a break.

Replacement: According to the latest cricket news, in place of Hardik Pandya for the South Africa series, Bengal all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed has been selected for India’s T20I squad.
