T10 League 2022- Strikers Earned a 4-Wickets Victory Over Morrisville Samp Army

The first Qualifier round of T10 League 2022 was held between New York Strikers and Morrisville Samp Army at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, on December 3.

New York Strikers won the toss and invited Morrisville Samp Army to bat first. The first inning started with Moeen Ali and Charles at the crease, and Akeal Hosein opened the attack. In the first over, New York Strikers succeeded as Akeal Hosein got two back-to-back wickets of Charles and Karim Janat.

Basil Hameed and Moeen Ali did not get a chance to chase more runs as they were both sent back in the 3rd over. MSA could chase 46 runs in 5 overs with a loss of 4 wickets. The tremendous fielding skills of the New York Strikers restrict MSA to 81 runs and finish the first inning by taking all the wickets in 10 overs.

After a short break, the second inning started with Stirling and Morgan at the crease, and Cottrell opened the attack. Morgan hit two back-to-back sixes in the first over. MSA got their first success at the start of the second over when M Theekshana dismissed Stirling.

In 5 overs, New York Strikers scored 40 runs with a loss of 2 wickets. Waseem scored 18 runs in the 6th over by hitting back-to-back boundaries. Rashid Khan was dismissed in the 8th over, and Akeal Hosein came to the crease. Akeal finished the game with a four, and New York Striker won the match by 4 wickets.

The Samp Army bowlers fought valiantly, making life difficult for the Strikers batters. Theekshana was their bowler of choice, taking 3/12 and keeping them in the game till the Muhammad Waseem show began. Chamika Karunratne, Karim Janat, and Cottrell each took a wicket. However, it was not enough because 81 was too low to defend.
