The 23rd match of Super Smash played between Canterbury and Central Districts at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. Central Districts won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Bowes and McClure came to bat for their team and Randell bowled the first over. Bowes started the run account with a four and hit two more four in the first over. McClure got out in the third over without scoring any runs but Bows’ performances continued. In the last over of powerplay, Bows hit  6, 4, and 4 and reached his team to 50 runs. After 6 overs, CNTBRY was 58-1.

Bows hit a four and scored his half-century in 32 balls in the 7th over. In the 11th over, Leo Carter took a single and reached his team to 100 runs. After 12 overs, CNTBRY was 113-1.

In the 14th over, Bows got out after scoring 89(52) on Ajaz Patel. Leo Carter took the responsibility after him and he started 20th over with a single and scored his half-century in 40 balls. He hit 3 fours and one six in the last over. 

In 20 overs, Canterbury scored 189 runs with a loss of 3 wickets. 

Chasing 190 runs, Bayley Wiggins and Ben Smith came to bat and Foulkes opened the bowling attack. Central Districts lost their early wicket as Bayley Wiggins and Will Young got out in the second over. Ben Smith hit the first four of the second innings in the second over. After 3 overs, CD was 14-3.

Central Districts lost their wickets in continuous intervals and their batter struggled to make a partnership. They reached 50 runs in the 8th over.

The wickets were falling continuously, batters were coming and going. In between this, CD reached 100 runs. After 16 overs, CD was 102-7.

William Clark played an inning of 44 runs and CD scored 131-9 and lost the match by 58 runs.
