South Africa and Australia came against each other in the 4th ODI of the series at SuperSport Park, Centurion. Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first.

R Hendricks and Quinton de Kock came to bat and Josh Hazlewood opened the bowling attack. In the 3rd over, de Kock hit a four on the third ball, which was the first boundary of the match. In the 9th over, R Hendricks smashed two fours on the fourth and sixth ball. After 10 overs, RSA was at 44-0.

In the 11th over, de Kock took a single on the last ball and RSA reached 50 runs. In the 13th over, R Hendricks started the over with a four and got out after scoring 28(34) on the fifth ball. In the 20th over,  van der Dussen hit back-to-back three fours. In the 21st over,  de Kock got out on the first ball and missed his half-century. In the 22nd over, RSA reached 100 runs. In the 24th over, van der Dussen started the over with a six and finished the over with a four. After 25 overs, RSA was at 120-2.

In the 26th over, Markram got out after scoring 8(11) on the first ball and Klaasen hit a four on the fourth ball. In the 33th over, Klaasen hit a four on the second ball and  van der Dussen hit a four on the fourth ball to score his half-century. In the 34th over, Klaasen  hammered two fours. In the 35th over, Klaasen started the over with a four, van der Dussen smashed a six on the third ball and got out after scoring 62(65) on the fourth ball. In the 36th over, Miller hit a six and helped RSA cross the 200 mark. In the 37th over, Klaasen scored his half-century with a six and he hit a four on the fifth ball. After 40 overs, RSA was at 243-4.

In the 41th over, Miller took a single on the third ball and scored a half-century and he hit a six on the fourth and RSA reached 250 runs. In the 42th over, Klaasen hammered three sixes on the first three balls and took a single on the next ball to score his century. In the 44th over, Miller took a double on the first ball and the partnership between Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller reached 100 runs. He hit a six on the second ball and RSA reached 300 runs. Klaasen also hit two boundaries in the over. In the 45th over, Klaasen and Miller smashed two and one four, respectively. In the 47th over, Klaasen started the over with a six and Miller smashed two fours. In the 48th over, Klaasen smashed three sixes. Miller and Klaasen’s fiery knock helped South Africa reach 400 runs.

In 50 overs, South Africa scored 416 runs with a loss of 5 wickets.

Chasing 417 runs, Warner and Head came to bat and Ngidi opened the bowling attack. Australian batter get a mammoth total to chase and Warner started with two fours but got out in the next overs. Mitchell Marsh came and returned to the pavilion after contributing 6(9). Australia reached 50 runs in the 8th over with the help of Head’s six. After 10 overs, Aus was at 71-2.

In the 12th over, Carey started the over with back-to-back two boundaries and Labuschagne got out after scoring 20(22) on the fourth ball. Australia reached 100 runs in the 14th over. The Australian batter used to get started and continued to return to the pavilion. Carey scored a half-century in the 18th over. After the initial blow, Tim David and Alex Carey made a partnership and Ngidi broke the partnership. After this wicket, Australia kept losing their wicket and continued losing their wicket.

Alex Carey was holding on side but couldn’t get enough support from another end. In the end, he also got after scoring  99(77) and missed his well-deserved century. He was the last batter to get out. Australia got out at 252 and lost the match by 164 runs.
