In MCA Pune, India and Sri Lanka faced off against each other. India won the toss and invited SL to bat first.

The opening bowling from Hardik Pandya revealed the batting attack, which was led by Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. Nissanka and Mendis scored two boundaries and a six in the second over. Sri Lanka scored 32 after three overs. SL scored 55 after six overs, which brought them halfway to their goal.

Mendis reached his 50-run stand in the eighth over, and he and Nissanka added a six and a four, respectively, to reach an 80-run total. Mendis, who scored 52 in 31 balls, was eliminated by Chahal. Sri Lanka surged to an impressive 89-2 after 10 overs.

The opening innings feature Shanaka, Mendis, and the no-balls as its stars. 206 is a significant total for Lanka after 20 overs. When Shanaka made his insane decision, they were 138 for 6. He was beaten by a no-ball and post, which only helped him improve. India was left with 207 people to find after attending to their own self-inflicted wounds. Arshdeep’s return was a nightmare, as he bowled five no-balls in his two overs as Lanka got off to a rapid start.

In 20 overs, Sri Lanka posted 206 runs with a loss of 6 wickets.

In the run chase, India didn’t get much from the openers and middle order as it lost 5 wickets at a score of 57. SKY and Axar were pretty much resistant to SL’s bowling attack and they played their natural game. SKY scored 51 in 36 balls and Axar complemented too in this.

Axar fuelled 65 runs in 31 balls to help the host touch 190-8 in 20 overs. India lost the game by 16 runs and the blame goes to the undisciplined bowling in today’s match.

There are many areas India should start working on before going to the World Cup this year.
