ICC Under 19 Womens T20 World Cup 2023: Pakistan Women Defeated Ireland Women by 7 Wickets

At North-West University No1 Ground, Potchefstroom, the women’s teams, Pakistan and Ireland faced off against each other. Ireland women won the toss and opted to bat first.

Rebecca Gough and Joanna Loughran opened the batting attack on the opening bowling of Areesha Noor. In the 2nd over, Loughran bought the first four for the side. Scoring just 5 runs in 7 balls, she lost her wicket to Noor. After 3 overs, Ireland women got a score of 12-1 and the score shifted to 32-3 after 8 overs.

After 11 overs, Ireland women crossed the half-century with a score of 54-4. Adding 17 runs in 13 balls, for the side, Zara Craig lost her wicket to Noor. With Squires standing tough for the side, Ireland got a score of 88-6 after 16 overs.

In 20 overs, Ireland women posted 113 runs with a loss of 7 wickets.

To chase down the target of 114, Shawaal Zulfiqa and Eyman Fatima opened the batting attack on the opening bowling of Georgina Dempsey. In the first over, Zulfiqa and Fatima hit the first four and a six respectively. After 3 overs, Pakistan women got a score of 19.

In the 5th over, Zulfiqa got one while Fatima hit two boundaries. Scoring 25 in 17 balls, Fatima lost her wicket to Sargent. After 7 overs, the score shifted to 47-2.

After 8 overs, Pakistan women crossed the half-century with a score of 54-2. With Syeda Aroob Shah and Fatima on the pitch, Pakistan women got a score of 88-2 after 12 overs.

Fueling 35 runs in 25 balls, Shah got a dismissal from Dempsey and the right-handed batter, Laiba Nasir took the batting charge. After 16 overs, Pakistan women crossed the century, standing at a score of 106-3.

In 17.4 overs, Pakistan women scored 118 runs with a loss of 3 wickets and won the match by 7 wickets.
