At the end of the fourth day, England was at 48-1, and Ollie Robinson and Ben Duckett were on the field. They resumed batting, and Michael Bracewell started the over at the start of day 5. England required 211 runs to win the match.

England reached 50 runs in the 13th over and Robinson got out after scoring 2(15) in the 14th over. Duckett hit four in the 16th over and it was the first boundary of the match. Duckett got out after scoring 33(43) in the 17th over. In the 21st over, Ollie Pope hit a four and got out after scoring 14(27). Harry Brook ran out without playing a ball and it was a huge blow for England.

In the 26th over, Root hit one six and two fours and England reached 100 runs. Root hit a four and scored his half-century in 50 balls. On the next ball, the partnership between Ben Stokes and Joe Root reached 50 runs. England reached 150 runs in the 40th over. Root hit back-to-back two boundaries. At the end of 1st session, ENG was at 168-5.

England reached 200 runs in the 56th over. Stokes got out after scoring 33(116) in the 57th over. In the 59th over, Root got out after scoring 95(113) and it was a huge blow for England. Broad got out after scoring 11(9) in the 62nd over. Foakes hit back-to-back two fours in the 69th over. Foakes got out after scoring 35(57 in the 72nd over. Anderson was the last wicket to get out and England lost the match. England got all out at 256 runs and lost the match by 1 run.
