On the ground of Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, the captains of both teams came up to the crease and Ireland won the toss. The side opted to bowl first. 

The pitch conditions were inviting for the batters, being fresh and well grassy. Finn Allen and Conway unveiled the batting form on a throw from Joshua Little.  

In the 2nd over, Conway bought the first boundary for New Zealand and the side had a score of 11 after 2 overs. The 4th over was really for NZ as Finn kept smacking three boundaries in the same over. 

Fueling 32 runs in 18 balls, Allen lost his wicket to Mark Adair and the right-handed batter took the batting charge, meanwhile NZ crossed the half-century with a score of 52 after 6 overs while losing one wicket. 

Willamson pulled up the ball high for a six and long for a boundary on a throw from Fionn Hand and Conway on side, they both managed to reach a score of 93 after 11 overs, losing 1 wicket. 

Kane Williamson and Glenn Phillips pushed up the team score, crossing the century, standing at score of 103-2 after 12 overs. Delany dismissed Glenn Phillips, allowing him to score 17 in 9 balls. After 16 overs, NZ stretched their score up to 140-3. 

Williamson reached his 50 in the 18th over and showed great gameplay, hitting beautiful fours and sixes. Adding a huge score of 61 off 35, he lost his wicket to Joshua Little. 

In the NZ vs IRE match, NZ batters posted a total score of 185 in 20 overs with a loss of 6 wickets. 

For the run chase of 186, Stirling and Balbirnie opened the batting attack on a delivery from Boult. Making a great start, Balbirnie hit the ball long off the fence. 

The Irish batters reached a score of 19 after 3 overs. Stirling played beautifully and smacked a four and six in the 7th over, crossing the half-century while standing at a score of 52 after 7 overs. 

Adding 30 runs in 25 balls, Balbirnie lost his wicket to Santner and immediately after, Stirling dismissed 37 off 27. Ireland reached at a score of 79 after 11 overs with a loss of 3 wickets. 

With George Dockrell and Lorcan Tucker on field, the Irish squad reached a score of 99 with a loss of 4 wickets after 14 overs. Scoring just 7 runs in 7 balls, Campher lost his wicket to Tim Southee. Dockrell helped his team to reach at a score of 126-6 after 17 overs. 

In IRE vs NZ match, New Zealand leveled up on the scoreboard by defeating Ireland by 35 runs, restricting them at score of  150 at a loss of 9 wickets.
