The World Cup T20 match between South Africa and the Netherlands was held on 6 November 2022. The greater importance of South Africa winning this match is to banish the ghosts of being smacked upside the head by Pakistan at the SCG on Thursday. The Dutch would enjoy being able to claim they beat both African teams.

South Africa won the toss and opted to field first. The first inning started, and Myburgh and Max ODowd came to the pitch to open the game. The Netherlands started the match so well, scoring 48 runs in the powerplay without losing any wickets. South Africa got their first success in 8.3 overs when Markram dismissed Myburgh, gone after chasing a good score of 37(30).

Anrich Nortje bowled the most economical spell ever in the Super 12s, giving just 10 off his four overs. The 58 runs partnership of Max ODowd and Tom Cooper ended when Keshav Maharaj took the big wicket of Max ODowd in the 12.4 overs. Max ODowd was gone after scoring 29 runs in 31 balls. Tom Cooper was hitting boundaries but caught out in the 14.6 overs. He was able to make 35 runs only in 19 balls.

The partnership of Colin Ackermann and Scott Edwards ended the first inning on 158. At the top, Stephan Myburgh set it up with cracking boundaries in the powerplay, and then at the end, Ackermann played a fine knock, making 41 runs in 26 balls.

The second inning started, and de Kock and Bavuma were at the crease as openers. Quinton started hitting boundaries but could not take his inning so far as Klaassen dismissed in the third over. Quinton was gone after 13 runs in 13 balls. Klaassen bowled five dot balls in the 5th over to build the pressure.

During the powerplay, South Africa chased 39 runs, losing two wickets of Quinton and Bavuma.

Van der Merwe gave 14 runs as Rossouw was in the attacking form. Rossouw tried to mark his inning with boundaries but was gone in the 10th over on 25(19).

David Miller and Markram tried to chase the run score, but Klaassen dismissed the partnership of 30 runs in 12.3 overs with the wicket of Markram. Markram scored 17 runs in 13 balls. However, Van Meekeren remained expensive as Klaasen lined him for a six.

Brando took 2 wickets of Miller and Parnell in the 16th over. Miller was gone after scoring 17 runs on 17 balls, and Piller was gone without even scoring a single run in his inning.

The Netherlands won the match by 13 runs with their outstanding performance in batting and fielding. With this win, India has now qualified for the Semi-Finals.
