With his aggressive batting style, Gayle has revolutionized opening batting in cricket and is regarded as one of the best openers in game history.

The maximum runs (221) were scored by former West Indian batsman Philo Wallace at the Champion Trophy in Bangladesh in 1998. The 2017 Champions Trophy saw Shikhar Dhawan score the most runs, 338. For the second consecutive year, Dhawan is the only player to record the most run total in the Champion Trophy. Even though Shikhar’s effort was insufficient for India to win the competition, they fell to Pakistan in the finals in England. His strike rate was 101.80, and he advanced at a rate of 67.60. The only player to receive the Golden Bat award twice straight is Dhawan.

The most runs have been scored in the Champions Trophy by Shikhar Dhawan (701 runs in 10 matches).  

These were all the records of every ICC Champions Trophy. With 791 runs scored in 17 games, Chris Gayle holds the record for most runs scored in Champions Trophy history.
