Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians came against each other in the eliminator of IPL 2023 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bat first.

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan came to bat and Krunal Pandya opened the bowling attack. In the 1st over, Ishan Kishan started the inning with a four. In the 2nd over, Ishan Kishan finished the over with back-to-back two fours. In the 3rd over, Rohit Sharma started the over with a six and hit a four on the third ball. In the 4th over, Rohit got out after scoring 11(10) on the second ball and Green hit two fours. In the 5th over, Ishan Kishan got out after scoring 15(12) on the second ball and Suryakumar Yadav finished the over with a six. In the 6th over, Green hit a four on the first ball and MI reached 50 runs. He hit two more fours in the same over.  After 6 overs, MI was at 62-2.

In the 9th over, Suryakumar Yadav hit a six on the second ball and Green finished the over with a six. With this six, the partnership between Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav reached 50 runs. In the 11th over, Suryakumar Yadav hit a four on the first ball and MI reached 100 runs. Suryakumar Yadav got out after scoring 33(20) on the fourth ball and Green got out after scoring 41(23) on the last ball. In the 12th over, Tilak Varma hit a six on the fifth ball. After 12 overs, MI was at 116-4.

In the 16th over, Tilak Varma hit a six on the second ball. In the 17th over, Tim David hit a four on the second ball and got out after scoring 13(13) on the third ball. In the 18th over, Nehal Wadhera hit a six on the first ball and MI reached 150 runs and Tilak Varma got out after scoring 26(22) on the third ball. In the 19th over, Jordan got out after scoring 4(7) on the fifth ball. In the 20th over, Nehal Wadhera started the over with a four and hit back-to-back two boundaries in the next three deliveries and got out after scoring 23(12) on the last ball.

In 20 overs, Mumbai Indians scored 182 runs with a loss of 8 wickets.

Chasing 183 runs, Prerak Mankad and Kyle Mayers came to bat and Jason Behrendorff opened the bowling attack. In the 1st over, Mayers hit back-to-back two fours. In the 2nd over, Prerak Mankad got out after scoring 3(6) on the fifth ball. In the 3rd over, Mayers started the over with a four. In the 4th over, Mayers got out after scoring 18(13) on the second ball. In the 6th over, Stoinis hit back-to-back three boundaries and LSG reached 50 runs. After 6 overs, LSG was at 54-2.

In the 7th over, Stoinis hit a four on the third ball and Krunal Pandya hit a four on the fifth ball. In the 9th over, Krunal Pandya got out after scoring 8(11) on the second ball. In the 10th over, Ayush Badoni got out after scoring 1(7) on the fourth ball and Pooran got out for a duck. In the 11th over, Hooda started the over with a six. In the 12th over, Stoinis ran out after scoring 40(27) on the fifth ball. After 12 overs, LSG was at 90-6.

In the 13th over, Gowtham ran out after scoring 2(3) on the third ball. In the 15th over, LSG reached 100 runs, Ravi Bishnoi got out after scoring 3(6) on the third ball and Hooda ran out after scoring 15(13) on the fifth ball. In the 17th over, Mohsin Khan got out for a duck. LSG got all out at 101 runs and lost the match by 81 runs.
