Galle Gladiators won the toss and opted to bowl first. To unveil the batting attack, Avishka Fernando and Gurbaz came to the crease on the opening bowling attack of Riaz.
In the 3rd over, Fernando smacked a four while Gurbaz lost his wicket on the throw from Riaz. After the end of the over, the side got a score of 11-1. Scoring 9 runs in 9 balls, Fernando got a dismissal from Imad Wasim.
