Japan vs South Korea: Japan Dominated South Korea to Win by 8 Wickets

The 4th match of ICC Men’s T20I World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifier B was held on 17th October 2022 at Sano International between Japan and South Korea.

Japan won the toss and invited South Korea to bat first. The first inning of the match started with Kim Daeyeon and Lal Amir at the crease to witness the over of Ibrahim Takahashi. 

In the first five overs, Korea lost one wicket of Lal Amir 1(6) in 2.6 overs. Korea scored 2 runs with a loss of one wicket during the powerplay. 

Sabaorish Ravichandran dismissed Lee KangMin 3(9) in 6.2 overs, and Piyush Kumbhare took over Kim Daeyeon 29(24), and Alam Nakash 0(2) in the 7th over. South Korea reached 43 runs with a loss of 4 wickets after 10 overs. 

Soochan Park and Raja Shoaib tried to make a partnership but could not do so as Ibrahim Takahashi dismissed Soochan Park 9(17) in the 14th over. Mudassir Iqbal hit 2 boundaries in the same over. He tried to hit more boundaries in the following over, but Sabaorish Ravichandran caught him. Mudassir was gone after 10(7). The scoreboard of Korea went to 65/6 after 15 overs.

In the last 5 overs, Japan took the 4 wickets of Jeon Hyunwoo 5(7), Raja Shoaib 23(33),  Nishant Nazmussakib 3(7), and Hwanhee Lee 1(3) clean bowled South Korea. 3 wickets were gone under M Taniyama, and Reo Sakurano took the last wicket. South Korea finished the first inning after 92/9. 

The second inning started with Supun Nawaeathna and Lachlan Lake, and Ullah Sana opened the attack. During the powerplay, Japan scored 62/0 runs. 

In the 6th over, Lachlan Lake achieved his half-century. The 76-run partnership was ended when Nishant Nazmussakib dismissed Supun Nawaeathna 21(15) in the 7th over. L Lake 55(28) was also gone in the 7.1 overs. 

Kendel Kadowaki Fleming and Sabaorish Ravichandran finished the game after 8 overs with a two fours in the 8th over. 

Japan credited one another victory by 8 wickets in their account thanks to their bowlers.
