IPL 2022 scheduled the closing ceremony on 29, May Sunday. Many celebrities came, and performed in the stadium to cheer the audience and made the final even more interesting. Ravi Shastri was the host of the night, and Ranveer Singh started the closing ceremony with his dance performance on 83 songs with his unmatchable energy. And organizers presented the biggest jersey on the field and displayed it to the world. Recent cricket news was that Saurav Ganguly, Jay Shah, and Brijesh Patel received the Guinness book of world records for the biggest jersey.

The closing ceremony continued after presenting the world’s largest jersey to the world, and Ranveer Singh performed on the Vaathi song. After that legendary singer, AR Rahman began his show with Vande Mataram, and the recent cricket news was that the whole stadium was singing Vande Mataram.

About the Largest IPL Jersey

Jersey was presented on the day of the final between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The dimension of the jersey was 66×44 meters, and the numbers were displayed 15 on the back because it was the 15th edition of IPL, and logos of all the teams were also present on the jersey. Former Indian player and coach Ravi Shastri presented the world’s largest t-shirt on the field, and billions of people witnessed this moment. The presence of Bollywood celebrities made it even more colorful. Music group of legendary singer AR Rahman, the Unmatchable energy of Ranveer Singh, and the rap performance performed. 

Result of the Final Match

After 15 minutes of the closing ceremony, the captain of both teams came to the field RR won the toss, and Sanju Samson decided to bat first.

Rajasthan came to bat and put the score 130/9 on the scoreboard with little effort from everyone. They started well as Yashasvi Jaiswal found a boundary on the start but got out at 22 runs in 16 balls, Yash Dayal took the wicket, and Sai Kishore took the catch. RR captain Sanju Samson came to 3rd position and made a partnership with Jos Buttler but went out on Hardik Panday’s ball at the score of 60, and he added 14 runs in 11 balls. After Sanju Samson’s dismissal, Devdutt Padddikal, Jos Buttler, and Shimron Hetmayer couldn’t hold on to the crease for a long time and lost their wickets. The GT bowler did a good job and restricted RR to 130 in 20 overs. Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs, Sai Kishore took 2 for 20, and Yash Dayal, Rashid Khan, and Md. Shami shared 1 wicket each.

Gujarat Titans sent their opening pair Widdhiman Saha and Shubman Gill to the crease to chase the target of 131, but Prasidh Krishna knocked Saha over in the second over with a score of 9, and he contributed 5 runs in 7 balls. After some time, Matthew Wade also got out, but Captain Hardik Pandya and Gill made a partnership until Chahal took Hardik’s wicket at a score of 86, and he added 34 runs in 30 balls. David Miller came after Hardik and took charge on every ball, and chased down 130 runs alongside Shaha. Trent Boult’s magnificent spell couldn’t help RR. Boult, Chahal, and Prasidh Krishna took one wicket each.

Hardik Pandya became the player of the match due to his contribution with the ball and bat, and Jos Buttler became the Player of the Series with three centuries. Recent cricket news has GT winning the IPL 2022 because everyone has written them off, but Hardik Pandya took it as a challenge and came forward to lead the side that won the IPL for his team. Yuzvendra Chahal won the purple cup for taking the maximum wicket in the tournament, and Jos Buttler won the orange cup for hitting the maximum run in the tournament.
