Nissanka started uninterruptedly, hitting three fours to get the score to 25 runs off 17 balls in the powerplay. He was the only batter to hit a boundary. He reached a half-century off 45 balls and played excellently through the late overs. In the end, he holed out Sri Lanka’s innings together with 74 off 64 balls.
UAE had 30 runs for four wickets after seven overs. Sri Lanka won the match by 79 runs. Batting first, Sri Lanka gained a good score of 152 off eight wickets, with the opener, Pathum Nissanka, scoring 74 runs off 60 balls. The Sri Lanka team wrapped the UAE matter in 17.1 overs with just 73 runs in their hands. This was UAE’s second defeat in as many games as it has played at the tournament.
