ICC Under 19 Womens T20 World Cup 2023: Indonesia Women Defeated Zimbabwe Women by 3 Wickets

Women squads, Zimbabwe and Indonesia squared off against each other at Willowmoore Park, Benoni for the ICC T20 U19 World Cup. With both the captains on the pitch, Zimbabwe women won the toss and chose to bat first.

Natasha Mthomba and Kay Ndiraya opened the batting attack on the opening bowling of Ni Luh Dewi. In the first over only, Mthomba got out at duck and the right-handed batter, Kelly Ndiraya took the batting charge. In the 2nd over, Ndiraya bought the first four for the side. After 3 overs, Zimbabwe women got a score of 12-3.

Scoring 10 runs in 17 balls, Ndiraya lost her wicket to Wulandari and the right-handed batter, Adelle Zimunhu came to the crease. After 8 overs, Zimbabwe women’s score shifted to 23-4 and the side jumped to a score of 40-5 after 13 overs.

Adding 13 runs off 29 deliveries, Zimunhu lost her wicket to Ni Kadek Ariani and the right-handed batter, Danielle Meikle came to the crease. Struggling hard, Zimbabwe women crossed the half-century, standing at a score of 55-6 after 16 overs.

Getting 20 runs in 19 balls, Meikle lost her wicket to Ni Luh Dewi and in the next over, Marumanni slammed three boundaries. Tawananyasha Marumani got holed out after scoring 20 runs in 19 balls on the bowling of Ni Luh Dewi.

In 20 overs, Zimbabwe posted 86 runs on the scoreboard with a loss of 8 wickets.

To chase down the target of 87 runs, Ni Kadek Ariani and Kadek Kurniartini opened the batting attack on the bowling of Danielle Meikle. In the first ball, Ariani lost her wicket and Dewi took the charge and bought the first four for the side. After 3 overs, Indonesia women got a score of 22-1. In the immediate over, Kurniartini lost her wicket.

Scoring 14 runs in 13 balls for the side, Dewi lost her wicket to Ndlovu and the right-handed batter, Gusti Ulansari came to the crease. After 8 overs, Indonesia women jumped to a score of 39-4.

After 10 overs, Indonesia women crossed the half-century with a score of 53-4. After 15 overs, their score shifted to 68-7.

In 18 overs, Indonesia women scored 87 runs with a loss of 7 wickets and won the match by 3 wickets.
