Indian Premier League 2023: Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians, Preview

MI and GT will face each other in the second qualifier to secure their place in the final. GT is table topper and played very well throughout the season but lost to CSK against the first qualifier. They have another chance to make their place in the final. On the other hand, MI has struggled with their bowling in the first half of the season. However, a brilliant bowling display in the eliminator helped MI to win against LSG and move to the next round.

Hardik Pandya & co. has played very well throughout the seasons and every player has stepped up when the team required it. In the last game, GT middle order failed to score runs on a spinning track. Opener Shubman Gill is in great form and has two centuries in this season. He was the only batter to hold on the crease and scored 42 runs before getting out. Shaha’s form has been up and down but he must have to perform in the qualifier. Pandya has come at third number, where he has not been successful – he must have thought that he couldn’t do justice at this place. Vijay Shankar has come back in this season and has played many crucial knocks. GT batters are full of match winners. In the lower order, Miller, Tewatia and Rashid Khan got the skill to finish the game.

In the bowling department, M Shami has provided them a great start and Mohit Sharma got the chance to play in the middle of the season and he has justified his place in the team. Sri Lankan skipper D Shanaka needed to do well as he came in as a replacement for Kane. “Karamti Khan” has also done very well in the spin department alongside his compatriot Noor Ahmed.

Rohit Sharma & co. is coming after a pleasing win against LSG in the eliminator. There is a unique bond between knockout and MI as they have managed to hold their nerve and reach the final and winning even after finishing fourth in the points table standings. Their batting order looks very solid.

Bowling has been a concern for MI but their bowlers have found the rhythm. Madhwal took the fifer in the last game and became the most economical bowler with fifer. He gave away 5 runs and took 5 wickets.
