The teams, India and Sri Lanka came against each other on the ground, Eden Gardens, Kolkata for the 2nd match of the ODI series. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first.

After 27 overs, Lankan jumped to a score of 149-6 and Hasaranga lost his wicket to Malik, fueling 21 in 17 balls. After 32 overs, the team score shifted to 164-7. On the over from Shami, Wellalage and Rajitha slammed three boundaries, and in the immediate over, the side crossed double-century with a score of 206-8 after 38 overs. 

Fuelign 32 runs in 34 balls, Wellalage lost his wicket to Siraj and the left-handed batter, Lahiru Kumara took the batting charge. 

India restricted Sri Lankans at a score of 215 in 39.4 overs with a loss of 10 wickets.
