India vs Bangladesh Test 2, Day 3 Highlights: Bangladesh Reduced India to 45/4 in the Chase

On day 3, Bangladesh began the game with 7/0. Axar Patel earlier ran out Khaled Ahmed as India bowled Bangladesh out for 231. Mohammed Siraj bowled Litton Das out for 73 as Axar Patel claimed three wickets in the innings while Mohammed Siraj claimed two. A wicket has been taken by Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Jaydev Unadkat.

The most of the day seems to be spent largely in India’s favour, much like the previous two days. Bangladesh had a lead of just 26 at one point when they lost their sixth wicket. The game appeared to be over by today at that point. However, the hosts resisted being subdued without a battle. Nurul started a counterattack, which encouraged Das and Taskin to jump in as well, increasing the advantage to 144. On most pitches, it’s undoubtedly not a daunting aim, but on this worn-out surface with varying bounce and spinning, Bangladesh had something to work with. Before Mehidy’s triple strike eliminated him, Shakib took the initiative and quickly eliminated his opponent. Axar Patel (26*) and Jaydev Unadkat (3*) remained unbeaten. To win, India now needs 100 runs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz of Bangladesh took three wickets, outplaying Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Cheteshwar Pujara. KL Rahul was struck out by Shakib Al Hasan early on.
