India Disturbed the Winning Rhythm of NZ in 2nd T20I With 6 Wickets Win

NZ faced the Men in Blue at Lucknow’s Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in an effort to win the T20I series. The visitor won the toss and chose to bat first in India vs. New Zealand. Allen and Devon Conway led New Zealand’s opening batting lineup when they came to bat first.

New Zealand falls one run short of scoring 100 runs. The Kiwis’ innings never got underway. With 19 runs, Santner leads the inning in scoring. Everyone who bowled, with the exception of Shivam Mavi, took wickets. Arshdeep Singh picked up a couple today. NZ ended the inning with 99-8 in 20 overs.

It was interesting to see that India bowled 13 overs of Spin as it was predicted that the pitch would favor the spinners.

In the run chase, India sent Gill and Ishan Kishan to open the batting attack while Jacob Duffy bowled the first over. Gill and Kishan were looking promising today and the duo put 16 off 3 overs. However, Gill got holed out by Bracewell at 14 off 9. In the powerplay, India could only manage to put 29-1 on the scoreboard. Soon, after the PP, Kishan got run out at 19 (32). He was feeling the pressure and tried to steal a double. After 10 overs, India was at 49-2. After the drinks, Ish Sodhi dismissed Rahul Tripathi 13 (18) and Washington Sundar got early run out when he started to build his inning in the 15th over. After 15 overs, India was 73-4 and India needed 27 runs off 30 balls. SKY and Pandya tried to cross the target with their singles and doubles.

In the last over of the Indian innings, the Men in Blue needed 6 off 6 balls. Tickner bowled the final over and conceded 3 runs off four balls. However, SKY hit the final boundary to hand over the win to his team. India won by 6 wickets and level the series 1-1. India posted 101-4 in 19.5 overs.

The world today witnessed the first T20I hosted by India with the highest number of overs bowled by Spinners. Also, none of the batters hit a single six today. Strange but True!
