Beginning on November 18, India will tour New Zealand for a three-match T20I series, which will be followed by as many ODIs. India will visit New Zealand for a brief white-ball series just five days after the 2022 T20 World Cup concludes.
On Monday, the BCCI revealed the two squads, which included a handful of young players. Since Jasprit Bumrah did not play in the T20 World Cup and is currently injured, he has not been selected by any side. In place of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul for the T20I match against the Kiwis, Hardik Pandya has been designated as captain. Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvedra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have all been chosen to represent India in the T20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Umran Malik’s return is commemorated by the series. Although the fast bowler has participated in three T20Is so far, he was not considered for the competition in Australia. The other pacer in the lineup will be Mohammed Siraj.
Shikhar Dhawan will be the captain of the ODI team. One of the team’s four quicks, along with Malik, Arshdeep, and Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Sen. Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Chahal will all work in the spin department, which will be overseen by Chahal.
